Fine art collectables are digital collectables connected to an original physical fine artwork.
These are not just random digital images. Each collectable is underpinned by a real artwork that the artist has spent time, skill, materials and labour creating.

Why create fine art collectables?
Original physical fine art is valuable, but not every buyer is ready to purchase the original piece.
Fine art collectables give artists an additional product to sell from the same artwork. They allow more people to own a collectable connected to the original physical piece, while still supporting the artist!
With VooGlue, fine art collectables can be purchased through three channels:
- The VooGlue smart TV app
- A QR code next to the artwork at a venue
- The VooGlue website
Once purchased, the collectable appears in the buyer’s online digital gallery and on the VooGlue Smart TV app under My Collection, allowing them to display the artwork at home.
How many collectables are created?
VooGlue mints 100 fine art collectables for each physical artwork.
Each collectable is priced at one hundredth of the physical artwork’s listing price.
For example, if the physical artwork is listed for $500, then…
- 100 fine art collectables are minted
- Each collectable is priced at $5
This keeps the value relationship simple and consistent. The collectables are tied to the physical artwork, and their price is consistently tied to the artwork’s listed value.
We recommend artists list their physical artwork at a realistic, affordable price so both the original artwork and the collectables have the best chance of selling.
How to mint fine art collectables
There are two ways to create fine art collectables on VooGlue.
Option 1: Mint while adding your artwork
When you add your physical fine artwork to the VooGlue platform, you will see a toggle asking whether you want to mint fine art collectables. Turn that option on, follow the prompts, and the collectables can be minted from there!
Option 2: Mint from ‘Manage Art‘
If your artwork is already on VooGlue, go to your Manage Art area.
From there, click the digital art / dollar symbol next to the artwork. This will open the minting process for that artwork.
Is there a minting fee?
Yes- there is a one-time minting fee for creating the fine art collectables.
The fee only needs to be paid once for that artwork. Once a few collectables sell, artists may recover that cost through sales.
Before minting, the details appear in a dialogue, so artists remain in control throughout the process.
What happens after minting?
Once your fine art collectables are minted, their mint status will appear in an additional tab in your Manage Art area.
They will also become available for sale through the VooGlue purchase channels:
- Smart TV app
- Venue QR code
- VooGlue website
Venue sales and commissions
If your physical artwork is on display at a venue, buyers can purchase the fine art collectables by scanning the artwork’s QR code or by using the VooGlue smart TV app at the venue.
When fine art collectables are sold at the venue, the venue receives a commission on those first-time sales.
For example, if 40 of the 100 collectables sell while the artwork is on display at that venue, the venue receives commission on those 40 sales.
This gives venues an incentive to support artists, promote the artwork and help drive sales. Venue commission only applies to collectables sold at that venue. It does not follow the artwork once it leaves the venue, and it does not apply to future resales.
Future resale royalties
In the near future, owners of fine art collectables will also be able to trade them online.
When a collectable is resold, a small royalty will be paid back to the artist. This means artists may be able to benefit not only from the first sale, but also from future trading activity.
Original Physical Artwork Verification
VooGlue requires artworks to be verified as physical artworks, so buyers can see that the collectable is connected to a real physical fine art object, not just an uploaded photograph.
Verification is done by taking your physical artwork to a nearby participating venue. The venue owner or manager will scan your artwork using the VooGlue mobile app to confirm that the artwork fingerprint matches the artwork on the platform. Once they have sighted the physical artwork, they can mark it as verified in the app.
After verification, the artwork will receive a verified badge on the VooGlue platform, along with an associated verification scan animation. This helps buyers trust that the physical artwork exists and has been verified by a venue.
A map of venues that can complete artwork verification will be available in the artist dashboard on the VooGlue platform.
You can mint your fine art collectables before verification and verify the physical artwork later. As soon as the artwork is verified, the verified badge will be added.
Sell from Your Studio with the Smart TV App
Artists can also use the VooGlue smart TV app in their own home studio or workspace.
Simply set up the smart TV app and log in as yourself, the artist. Your artwork catalogue can then rotate through on the screen, creating a digital display of your available works.
When visitors come to your studio or home, they can view your artwork on the smart TV and scan directly from the screen to buy either:
- the original physical artwork; or
- the fine art collectables connected to that artwork.
This gives artists another simple way to present their catalogue, create interest during studio visits, and make both originals and fine art collectables available for purchase on the spot.
